Joining a Dōjō is serious commitment and should not be an impulsive decision. Membership should be thought through completely and we strongly encourage people new to the martial arts to experience different styles and find a training environment that best suits their needs and goals. At the Jinenkan Kōsei Gōgi Dōjō, our students are extremely committed to their training. It’s an important part of their life and for this reason we ask that new members appreciate this by making a conscious decision to commitment prior to enrollment.
Once you have decided to make training in martial arts at our Dōjō a part of your life, enrollment is a simple two step process.
If you live close to our New York location, we will first set up an appointment for you to visit a regular scheduled class to witness training. Once you’ve made the decision to join our Dōjō, you will then enroll into our one month Introduction Program. This program allows you to participate in any class at our Dōjō and determine which classes and schedule best suit you.
When your Introduction Program is complete, you will then enter our Student Program and be considered a full member of the Dōjō. Requirements for student membership are
1. Correct training attire
2. Correct training equipment
3. Membership to the Jissen Kobudō Jinenkan organization
4. *Enrollment agreement completed and submitted to the Dōjō
5. Jinenkan yearly Membership fees must be kept up to date
