Jinenkan Dojo Membership Information

Martial arts logo for the Jinenkan Dojo, MahopacOur Dojo has two types of members who attend training at our Dojo in New York or at one of our “Shibu” Dojo in different parts of the US and abroad. These training group leaders are considered students of the Jinenkan Kouseigogi Dojo, just like our regular members here in New York. So regardless of where you live, if you wish to be a member of our Dojo and train with us, you can.

Martial arts training in Gyokko Ryu at the Jinenkan Dojo in Mahopac New YorkBut please understand that joining the Dojo is a commitment. It must not be an impulsive decision. Membership should be thought through completely and we strongly encourage people new to the martial arts to experience different styles and find a training center that best suits their goals. At the Jinenkan Dojo, our students are extremely committed to their training. It’s an important part of their life and for this reason we ask that new members appreciate this by making a conscious decision to commitment prior to enrollment.

Once you have decided that our Dojo suits your goals, enrollment is a simple two step process.

If you live close to our New York location, we will first set up an appointment for you to visit a regular scheduled class to witness training. Once you decide that you wish to begin training, you will then enroll into our one month Introduction Program. This one month program allows you to participate in any class and at any level at the Jinenkan Dojo, including Traditional Martial Arts, Samurai Sword and Classical Weaponry.

The Introduction Program allows you to adjust your personal schedule for training, experience the different classes to find which best suits you while offering an all inclusive opportunity to the many different programs at the Jinenkan Dojo.

When you Introduction Program is complete, you will then enter our Student Program and be considered a member of the Dojo. Requirements for student membership are
1. Correct training attire
2. Correct training equipment
3. Membership to the Jissen Kobudo Jinenkan organization
4. *Enrollment agreement completed and submitted to the Dojo
5. Membership fees must be kept up to date
